'Our Field' Exhibition

'Our Field' Exhibition

“Our Field”

Inspired by Antony Gormley's artwork 'Field',

This exhibition is a memento of The Romford BID's 'Celebrate the Street' Festival.

As part of the celebration The No Collective hosted a workshop with local ceramicist Kate Mayo to make a host of animals and creatures from the imaginations of our local community. Joined by photographer Hannah Davis, families learned how to make their fantastical creatures to take home while also understanding more about 'chemical photography' through the form of Polaroid.

The creatures and animals created will now form a special field across the breadth of Havering. The terracotta clay presented through the polaroid lens gives an extremely special, nostalgic memento physically and in time, capturing the individual artists' thoughts and feelings about their experience and creation on the day. This archive exhibition intends to elongate the feel of a community celebration whilst also celebrating the Individual artist when participating in a community artwork.

We invite artists in the photographs to collect their 'memento' after the exhibition ends from 14th August at The Mercury management suite.
