Helping wanderers haven

Wanderers Haven Animal Sanctuary was founded in 1961 by Mrs Geraldine Wagstaff in her family home in Ramsgate, Kent. The Sanctuary has been at its current location in Cranham, Essex since July 1976. They rescue all animals ranging from horses, ponies, goats, sheep, ducks, geese, chickens, cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, and birds.

Back in May 2011 The Mercury Mall volunteered as a food drop off point for the charities food drive week. The donation point at the help desk was such a success, that we offered to continue with the service. The Mercury’s Wilkinson’s store decided that they also could help in the charities mission to support Havering and Essex’s homeless animals.

Thanks to the generosity and support of the Mercury’s loyal visitors, Wanderers Haven receives between 2 to 6 trolley loads of food a week. This is a valuable resource as it frees up money, which would otherwise have been spent on food, to provide better accommodation, vets bills and other vital running costs.

Food donation drop off points can be found at the Mercury Help desk outside McDonald’s and in Wilkinson’s exit.

Thank you for your kind donations and continued support.
